- 100% local: the table of contents is built from your headings, with no network call on the public side.
- Lightweight and discreet: a neutral style that fits into any theme.
Why a table of contents improves reading and SEO
On a long post, the reader wants to know right away whether the content answers their question — and where. A clickable table of contents plays this role: it gives an overview and lets them jump directly to the right section. Result: less bounce and deeper reading.
The effect does not stop at the reader: the anchors generated for each heading make it easy to share a specific passage, and a clear heading structure helps search engines understand your post. Yet many plugins reserve this convenience for a paid version or impose it inside a heavy suite. AIFORYA Table of Contents keeps it simple, free and lightweight.
What the plugin does
- Automatic table of contents — analyzes the content's headings (h2, h3, etc.) and builds a hierarchical list of links.
- Clickable anchors — a unique anchor link is added to each heading for direct jumping.
- Automatic or manual insertion — place the table of contents automatically before the first heading, or choose its location with the
[aiforya_toc]shortcode. - Content of your choice — enable the table of contents on the content types of your choice (posts, pages, etc.).
- Adjustable threshold and levels — set the minimum number of headings required and the maximum heading level taken into account.
- Neutral and discreet style — the table of contents fits into your theme without imposing its colors.
