Why care about your alt text?

Alt text is what screen readers of visually impaired people read, and what Google uses to understand and rank your images. It is an official accessibility criterion (WCAG 1.1.1) and an often-overlooked ranking lever. Yet filling in the alt of every image in a well-stocked media library by hand is tedious, and most automatic solutions require paid AI and sending your images to a third-party service.

Installation in 2 minutes

1. Download the plugin here (or install it from WordPress.org).
2. Activate it from the Plugins menu.
3. Open AIFORYA Alt Text, Library tab, to generate the missing alt text. The WCAG Audit tab lists the images to fix.

No API key or configuration is required: the plugin works as soon as it is activated.
