Disable WordPress comments: the free AIFORYA plugin
Disable WordPress comments and trackbacks everywhere or per content type, without deleting your data. Free plugin, 100% local core, no API key.

Cut WordPress comments and spam, without ever losing your data.
AIFORYA Comments Control disables WordPress comments and trackbacks, either everywhere or only on the content types of your choice. The plugin hides already-published comments from visitors (without ever deleting them), cleans up the admin interface and shuts off pingbacks, which are often abused for spam. The core works locally, without an API key, without an account — and for free, with no time limit.
- Free and complete: published on WordPress.org, no feature held back.
- No data destruction: hidden comments stay in the database and reappear if you deactivate the plugin.
- Lightweight: a plugin dedicated to a single job, not one more module in a sprawling suite.
Why disable comments?
On many sites, the comments area no longer adds anything: it mostly attracts spam, weighs down moderation and exposes attack vectors such as XML-RPC pingbacks. Cutting it cleanly means less noise, less risk and a clearer admin.
The problem is that most existing solutions force an uncomfortable choice: either they permanently delete your comments (irreversible), or they merely hide them without touching trackbacks and pingbacks, or they are bundled in a heavy suite you don't want to install for a single feature. AIFORYA Comments Control was built to cut through that knot: reversible, complete and lightweight disabling.
What the plugin does
- Disable everywhere or per content type — turn off comments across the whole site or only on posts, pages, products, and so on.
- Trackbacks and comments closed — comment and trackback support is removed, and both comments and pings are closed on the targeted content.
- Hide existing comments — already-published comments are hidden from visitors, with no data deletion.
- Admin cleanup — removal of the Comments menu, the toolbar icon and the "Recent Comments" dashboard block.
- Disable pingbacks — removal of the X-Pingback header and the related XML-RPC methods, to close the door on a frequent source of spam.
Privacy
No data is deleted or shared with a third party by the plugin's operation. Hidden comments stay in the database. The core of the plugin makes no network call: everything happens on your server. The optional Support and Reviews tabs can, only if you use them and with your explicit consent (a checkbox), send your message to the AIFORYA Echo service — never without an action on your part.
