Content decay on WordPress: the free AIFORYA plugin
Spot WordPress posts losing relevance and prioritize your updates. Free plugin, local and transparent score, no required API key.

Spot the posts that are decaying and refresh the right ones, at the right time.
AIFORYA Content Decay spots the blog posts that lose relevance over time and helps you decide which ones to refresh first. The calculation is local, transparent and AI-free: a decay score from 0 to 100 combines each post's age, traffic and engagement. Free, with no time limit, and with no required API key.
- Free and complete: published on WordPress.org, no feature held back.
- Transparent score: a simple weighted algorithm that you understand and tune yourself.
- Local by default: the core works with no network call; the Google Analytics connection is optional.
Why monitor your content's decay?
A post that once performed well goes out of date: searches evolve, links die, competitors publish something more recent. Traffic erodes slowly, often without you noticing. Yet refreshing a profitable old post is almost always more effective than writing a new one: the age, inbound links and indexing are already there.
The real problem isn't writing, it's knowing where to start. Without a measure, you refresh at random or on instinct. Content Decay turns that intuition into a numbered priority: you open the dashboard, sort by score, and handle what is decaying the most first.
What the plugin does
- Algorithmic decay score — local and transparent calculation (0 to 100), with no AI and no API key.
- Dashboard — the key indicators: posts in decline, average score over 30 days, analysis coverage.
- Posts tab — the list of your posts with decay score and trend (up / down / stable), sortable by score, date or title to spot the priorities.
- Configurable thresholds and weightings — adjust the "in decline" threshold and the weight of each factor (age, traffic, engagement) to fit your blog.
- CSV export — export all scores for external analysis or reporting.
- Automatic daily analysis — a scheduled task recalculates the scores every day, with no intervention.
- Manual refresh — republish a post at the current date in one click to bring it back to the front, without changing its content.
Privacy
The core of the plugin works without any required network call: decay detection, dashboard, CSV export and scheduled analysis all run on your server. Two network communications are possible, and only at your initiative: the Google Analytics connection (disabled by default, it uses only your own GA4 property ID), and the optional Support and Reviews tabs, which only contact the AIFORYA Echo service if you send a message, with your explicit consent.
How it does better than competing free plugins

| Calculation transparency | Adjustable weighted algorithm, no AI | Black box or opaque score |
| Traffic | Local by default, GA4 optional | Often GA required |
| CSV export | Included | Often paid |
| API key / account | None required | Sometimes required |
